Nike is giving one of its most talked-about silhouettes a formal upgrade with the release of the Nike Air Force 1 Low ‘Black Patent’.

The execution is simple but effective. Every panel across the upper is dressed in glossy patent leather, catching light from every angle and elevating the silhouette’s visual presence. Inside, a classic leather lining ensures comfort remains a priority, subtly upgrading the feel without overcomplicating the formula. Even the signature lace dubrae has been removed, streamlining the design and allowing the sleek finish to take center stage. 

Despite the formal makeover, the DNA remains untouched. You still get the iconic Air Force 1 structure, the padded collar, perforated toe box, and durable rubber sole, all wrapped in a seamless, all-black aesthetic from top to bottom. 

This release also taps into a broader resurgence of patent leather in sneaker culture, nodding to early 2000s Air Force 1 colourways while echoing the legacy of icons like the Air Jordan 11, which famously introduced patent leather to performance footwear.
