How To Clean Your Sneakers Using Crep Protect FoamX

Now if you’re a die-hard Crep fan, then I am sure you would have already snagged a bottle of our latest cleaning innovation - Crep Protect FoamX. Whether it is already working magic on your sneaker rotation or you’re still waiting for that dispatch email, do not worry as we want to show you how our latest cleaning foam can pack a punch in your sneaker routine.

Crep Protect FoamX

Using the iconic Air Force 1’s as an example, this ‘How To’ is an ample demonstration of how you can quickly clean your sneakers in under 10 minutes!

Before we get down to the nitty and gritty of what this miracle in a bottle has to offer, let’s find out a little more about how FoamX can transform your sneaker game.

‘What is Crep Protect FoamX?’

Time-saving, effective, and eco-friendly, the Crep Protect Foam X is the only foaming technology you need to keep your kicks crisp and clean in every season. Equipped with a built-in pump applicator, our premium quick-action formula not only gently lifts away the dirt as it changes colour from purple to white, but also halves your cleaning time.

‘What sneakers can I use FoamX on ?’

Due to the Crep Protect FoamX’s water-based formula, it is safe and ideal for a range of materials including leather, nylon, and canvas. Before using it on suede, we recommend testing this product in an inconspicuous area to check for colour bleeding.

‘How long does this cleaning process take?’

The process is quick, typically requiring about 5 minutes for the foam to act, plus additional time for wiping and drying.

1. Preparation - Brush that dirt off your sneakers

Brushing loose dirt off Air Force 1 Low

Like most of our sneaker care products, we start off the cleaning process by scrubbing away any loose dirt and debris on the sneaker with our Premium Cleaning Brush. It is important to remove any loose dirt before application so you can get the best out of the foaming cleaning agent.

2. Give it a Shake

Shake Crep Protect FoamX

Now your sneakers are prepped for cleaning, give the Crep Foam X a shake. We recommend shaking the can as this will combine all the active cleaning ingredients together so an instant cleaning foam can be formed.

3. Foam it up

Applying Crep FoamX to Air Force 1 Low

Apply a generous layer of foam across your sneakers making sure that the affected area is fully covered. The foam will initially appear purple in colour, but after 5 minutes the foaming solution will turn white and this will be an indication that it is ready to wipe!

4. Wipe ‘em down

Wipe down sneakers with a damp microfibre towel

Now that the dirt has been removed, wipe down your sneakers using a damp microfibre towel. Start by working the towel across the uppers and then make your way down to the midsoles and outsoles, applying an extra bit of pressure to the grooves and harder-to-reach areas.

Top tip: For removing excess foam we recommend using our latest selection of Microfibre Towels. Not only will this reduce drying time but each towel is catered for a specific use. Our Premium Microfibre Towel is ideal for wiping down those uppers, while the Essential Microfibre Towel works magic on your midsoles and outsoles.

5. Repeat if needed

If the dirt persists, give your sneakers another foamin' and wipe down until desired results are achieved.

6. Let your sneakers dry

Finish off your cleans by allowing your sneakers to dry overnight or in a well-ventilated room. Properly dried sneakers will not only feel more comfortable on your feet but also reduce the build-up of bacteria on your sneakers. So hopefully next time you’ll think twice about skipping the drying stage!
